| Methane from Cow Fart May Be the Alternative Energy Source We're Looking ForThe next time you see a cow, think global warming. Think alternative energy sources.A recent scientific study shows that livestock release methane, a greenhouse gas, when they burp or fart. It is said that 18% of greenhouse gases come from cattle. To show you the picture, a single cow produces 25 to 130 gallons of methane every day. Now imagine more than 1.5 billion cows burping and farting at the same time. Hmmm. To every problem there is a solution. Think about this. Methane is a kind of biofuel. If governments will just create laws that will force farmers to put some gas trapping devices over these cows' mouths and butts, we'll be hitting two birds with one stone. First, we'll be eliminating 18% of the greenhouse emissions in the air, which will be a tremendous help to efforts stopping global warming. Secondly, well have more than 35 billion gallons of methane daily to satiate our energy needs--and it's renewable, too! Now, if we can only convince our engineers to develop these gas trapping devices... Link: The Fart That Hurts The Earth |
